Tips to relieve Work from Home Fatigue

Work from home this cool looking way of working sounds very comfortable; After Covid-19 pandemic, work from home was no longer a choice now it was the only option left for companies to keep their work running.

In a survey conducted on professionals working from home during the pandemic found out that 75% of people are experiencing an increase in their productivity.

Many professional working from home have admitted that after some time work from home starts taking a toll on your mental, physical, psychological, and mental health leading to fatigue.

Feeding on snacks, fast food all the day, sitting continuously for long period of time, not giving break to our thoughts, etc. all these small things will one day lead to harmful mental conditions such as feeling lethargic, stress, frustration, depression.

So, it would be best if you started taking your health seriously the minimum you can do is meditation, light exercise, yoga, or any other physical activity you can perform from your home would do the work.

Take frequent breaks and keep straching

Constantly working in front of screens, sitting in a bad posture for a long time, can indeed cause serious problems such as eye strains, headaches, brain Fog, stress, anger, etc.

It is advisable to take breaks from time to time to relax, lay down on the bed, stretch the body. Lie down on the yoga mat, keep hands over the head, keep back and back straight and try to pull, be in that posture for 2-3min.

second way is to warm your palm rubbing and keep in over the eyes, breath deep and exhale slowly. Do it for 5-6 times.

In short do something which takes you away from work these ways you’ll free your mind, feel more energetic, fresh and ready to work again.

Do not skip meals

Morning and Evening meals are the most important to keep energy flowing, keeping immune system strong. Fix a time for Lunch between 12pm to 2pm and Dinner between 6pm to 8pm.

Early lunch or dinner is always good for the health. According to Ayurveda, these are the time when ones digestive power is highest and the food consume during these time get digested much faster, nutrient absorption is much better that any other time. Skipping these timings or meal can leads to imbalance metabolism, low energy and compromised immune system.

Drink enough water

While working from home we do not realise that our body releases moisture while in AC environment, and it causes slow and steady water loss or dehydration. Ignoring it for long term can cause multiple issues.

Water makes up a majority of your body weight. It is the only component in our body responsible for flushing out waste, regulating body temperature and helping our body organ work smoothly specially brain 

Keeping a jug, bottle full of water is alway advisable. Water intake cannot be replaced by any soft drink, tea or coffee. Water in it’s natural form is sufficient. Daily water intake can be between 2 to 3 litres

Morning yoga, exercise or meditation

Morning time, from sunrise till 8am is recommended as the best time to do yoga or exercise. Around this time body had activated Vata which influence circulatory system, nerves system and endocrine system predominately. This time should utilised to do exercise, yoga, meditation or studies.

Following morning practices, synchronises our body with the nature, enhance our internal energy, make our body system work perfectly and leads to healthy mind and body.

Focusing on spine and legs

Long sitting can lead to restricted blood supply to your back and legs, thus causing multiple problems. Keeping spine straight is important and that can be done by strengthening the two pillars of our middle body, back muscles and abdominal muscles. Exercise routine should include focus on these muscle and also include starching of leg muscles. Cobra pose, bridge pose, cat-cow pose are few asana for strengthen back and abdominal muscles while warrior pose, triangle pose, waterfall pose are good for leg muscles

Avoid binge eating

It obvious that doing stressful situation or too much of brain work. It triggers craving for high sugar, high carbohydrates diet. It is difficult to control craving and the better way is replacing unhealthy food items with the healthy food such as fruits, roasted millets or even with water. Ayurveda recommends multiple healthy options for such hunger pangs. Make Ayurvedic meals out of vegetables and fruits available in the kitchen

It cannot be replaced by tea or coffee. It gives immediate “kick” but after that, it’s only toxins and the body struggling to throw them out. Snacks prepared from low glycemic index cereals can be healthy options eg. sattu

Lastly

The constant pressure to prove yourself to secure your future is never going to end even if you’re working from home you have level up skills, knowledge, professional outlook, etc.

But in this chaos getting stressed out, getting angry, feeling left behind, etc. are normal don’t make it too complicated.

It does affect your mental and emotional health in a way that your only goal is to secure your future where you tend to sacrifice our personal life and health.

The best way is to work your overall well being, follow a healthy lifestyle, do some yoga and meditation to power your brain, chill with your kids.

Focus more on improving your mindset, rest will follow.
